Frequently Asked Questions

  • Crossbridge Immokalee is a brand-new nonprofit organization. We have officially incorporated and are in the final stages of preparing our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS.

    How the process works:

    • The Application: We are filing paperwork that proves our mission is purely for the community's benefit.

    • Retroactive Approval: Once the IRS approves our application (which can take several months), our tax-exempt status is typically backdated to our date of incorporation.

    • What this means for you: If you donate today, and our status is approved later this year, your gift should qualify as a tax deduction on your next tax return.

Our Commitment: We believe in full transparency. While we cannot guarantee deductibility until we receive our official letter from the IRS, we are working with high standards of excellence to ensure we meet every requirement. We will notify all our early supporters as soon as our official status is granted!

  • Your gift stays right here in Immokalee. We are committed to radical transparency and ensure that every dollar is used to build "pathways forward" for our neighbors.

    Donations currently fund:

    • Food Access: Purchasing fresh produce and pantry staples for local families.

    • Education: Resource materials for life-skills workshops and youth mentoring.

    • Economic Empowerment: Helping neighbors navigate resources for housing, health, and jobs.

    • Operational Essentials: The basic tools we need to keep our outreach and services running effectively.

  • Yes! We believe the strongest bridges are built by many hands. We have several ways for you to stand with us:

    • Service Days: Help us distribute food or organize community events.

    • Mentorship: Share your life skills with students or adults looking to grow.

    • Ambassadors: Help us spread the word about our mission in your own circles.

    • Professional Partnerships: If you have a business or skill (like accounting, law, or marketing), we would love to collaborate.

  • We do! "In-kind" simply means donating items or services instead of cash. We are currently accepting:

    • Food Items: Unopened, non-perishable food and fresh produce.

    • Educational Supplies: Laptops in good condition, books, and school supplies.

    • Professional Services: If you are a skilled professional willing to offer pro-bono services to our families or the organization, please reach out.

  • Absolutely. Many of our supporters choose to give a gift as a beautiful way to honor a loved one’s legacy or celebrate a special occasion. When you make your donation, simply include a note with:

    1. The name of the person you are honoring.

    2. An address or email where we can send a note to the family informing them of your thoughtful gift (we will not share the amount).
